Kathie Teta, PNP
Meet Kathie Teta, an experienced Pediatric Nurse Practitioner specializing in Pediatric Neurology. With over 30 years of experience, she has dedicated career to supporting children of all ages facing developmental, behavioral, and neurological challenges. Kathie's expertise in autism allows her to address complex needs, including inattention, behavioral issues, anxiety, and depression, through coordinated care services. In collaboration with parents, she develops personalized plans to ensure success both home and in school, prioritizing education and smooth transitions into adult care. Additionally, Kathie actively volunteers with FOCUS, a non-profit organization dedicated to helping children with developmental and physical.


Valerie Benjamin, PNP
Meet Valerie Benjamin, a dedicated pediatric nurse practitioner with nearly 40 years of experience in pediatrics. With over 20 years specializing in developmental pediatrics, she offers compassionate, family-centered care to children with diverse needs. As a valued member of the Rubin Center team , Valerie collaborates closely with families and interdisciplinary professionals to foster each child's growth and development. Known for her warm and approachable style, she is committed to ensuring families feel informed and supported throughout their care journey. Outside of her professional life, Valerie enjoys soul line dancing, traveling, and being active in her church.
Janelle McDaniel, Ed.D.
Director of Operations
Dr. McDaniel is the Director of Operations at The Rubin Center for Autism, where she collaborates closely with Dr. Rubin to uphold quality standards. Her focus is on enhancing and managing our office staff and environment, ensuring exceptional customer service for our families. With a background in autism and extensive experience in administration and clinical services, she has been an invaluable member of The Rubin Center since her joining in 2020, dedicated supporting families with developmental concerns.

Jami Nakan, B.S.
Clinical Coordinator

Jami has been an essential member of The Rubin Center team since 2020, serving as the Clinical Coordinator. In her role, she assists patients with medication management, schedules new patient appointments, and ensures follow-up visits are organized. Outside of work, Jami enjoys gardening, knitting, and cherishing moments with her family. Her dedication and warmth make her a valued part of our team.
Kelly Jeffries
Administrative Assistant

Kelly joined the office in 2004, bringing her expertise in assisting families with a variety of needs, from scheduling appointments to supporting documentation preparation for patient records. She resides in Peachtree City her husband and their three children—two sons and a daughter—balancing her professional dedication with a vibrant family life.

Barbara Nakan has been a vital member of The Rubin Center team since 2011, serving our Financial Manager. Originally from South Africa, she has made Atlanta her home for over 20 years. With a passion for animals and a love for family, Barbara brings warmth and dedication to both her personal and professional life.
